In three or four steps
How to install it
Choose your device. We have picked the one you are using now.
Open CathoNav in Safari
Safari is the blue compass on your iPhone. Type cathonav.com in the address bar at the top or bottom of the screen.
Tap the Share button
It is a square with an arrow pointing up — at the bottom of the screen, or next to the address bar. On the newest iPhones, tap the three dots beside the address first, then Share.
Choose “Add to Home Screen”
Scroll down the list that opens until you see Add to Home Screen and tap it. If you see a switch called Open as Web App, leave it switched on.
Tap “Add”
Tap Add in the top right corner. The CathoNav compass is now on your home screen — tap it to open CathoNav like any other app.
Using Chrome on your iPhone? It works the same way: tap the Share button in the address bar at the top, then Add to Home Screen.
One tap — your browser will ask you to confirm.
Open CathoNav in Chrome
Chrome is the round red, yellow and green icon. Type cathonav.com in the address bar at the top.
Tap the install button or the menu
If you see the gold Install CathoNav button above, tap it. Otherwise tap the three dots in the top right corner of Chrome.
Choose “Install app” or “Add to home screen”
In the menu, tap Install app — on some phones it is called Add to home screen .
Tap “Install”
Confirm with Install. The CathoNav compass appears on your home screen and among your apps.
Using Samsung Internet? Tap the menu with three lines at the bottom, then Add page to → Home screen.
One tap — your browser will ask you to confirm.
Open CathoNav in Chrome or Edge
Go to cathonav.com in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
Click the install button
If you see the gold Install CathoNav button above, click it. Otherwise click the small install icon at the right end of the address bar — in Edge you can also open the menu and choose Apps → Install this site as an app.
Click “Install”
Confirm with Install. CathoNav opens in its own window, and you can find it in the Start menu, the Dock or your applications like any other program.
On a Mac with Safari: open the File menu and choose Add to Dock. In Firefox, which cannot install apps, press Ctrl+D (⌘+D on a Mac) to keep CathoNav as a bookmark.
Why install it
Always at hand
One tap away
CathoNav opens from your home screen in its own window, without the browser around it — like any other app.
Prayers without a connection
These are kept on your device and open even in a church with no signal: Pray the Rosary, Prayers, The Way of the Cross, The Angelus, Going to Confession, Saint of the Day, The Liturgical Year, Prayer Cards, Novenas, Pray for the Dead, The Advent Wreath, Lectio Divina, The Examen, To Jesus through Mary.
Free and private
No app store, no account, no advertising and no tracking — see our privacy page.
Always up to date
The app is CathoNav itself, so it updates on its own. There is nothing to download again.
To remove it again
iPhone and Android: press and hold the CathoNav icon on the home screen, then choose Remove, Delete or Uninstall. Computer: open the CathoNav window, click the three dots in its top bar and choose Uninstall.
